OTHELLO
I will once again play the role of Iago in Shakespeare's Othello. This time with the Lantern Theater in Philadelphia with the amazing Lindsay Smiling. Please come on out and see what we end up with. The run is March April 2020 in Center City Philadelphia.
ELEPHANT ROOM II -
Elephant Room II - the sequel to our much appreciated multi-dimensional magic extravaganza Elephant Room. This time magicians and icons, Daryl Hannah, Louie Magic and Dennis Diamond are in space. Oh it's on.
THE ACCOUNTANT
Performances TBD in NYC, Fall 2020
We are thrilled with returning to the piece after it's sold-out run at the FringeArts Festival. We will be bringing in the wonderful dynamic duo that head the award-winning theater company Gare St. Lazare Ireland. Judy Hegarty Lovett will direct and our creative consultant Conor Lovett might also make an appearance in the surreal world of the Accountant.
In the forgotten office of an aging clerk, the tedium of everyday life transforms into a comical and haunting world of futility, remembrance, and regret. The Accountant is a visual theater piece inspired by the disorientation that death can bring into our lives and by Samuel Beckett’s raw rumination on impermanence, Krapp’s Last Tape.
Co-creator of festival favorites all wear bowlers (2005), Amnesia Curiosa (2006), and Elephant Room (2011), Trey Lyford characteristically blends physical theater, vaudeville routines, illusion, and slapstick to celebrate the beauty fluttering in the details of everyday life and the poetic humor embedded at the epicenter of loss. When you take stock, and account for all the details - does it all add up?
Created in collaboration with performers Ben Bass and Coralie Holum Lyford, composer Cole Kamen-Green, and designers Eric Novak, Tara Webb, and Robin Stamey.
